My experience in playing PS2 game - Prince of Persia: Sands of time

Prince of Persia: The Sands of time

Today I am going to talk about a  PS2 game, named Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Let me first tell you about the characters, then little bit about special features of the game and then lastly about my experience in playing this game.

In this game there are 4 characters.

The Prince:

The son of an Indian king. He’s a very good swordsman and good in fighting. The prince wanted to prove himself in a fight, so he needed the dagger of time.

Farah:

The beautiful daughter of the Indian mughal king. Farah had every reason to hate the prince as he unlocked the hourglass ,let the sand spread turning everything into a  Sand creature it touches and destroyed her world

The Vizier:

The assistant of the Indian king. He was the one who  told the prince to unleash the Hourglass, and now he wanted the dagger of time to complete his diabolical plan.

Sand creatures:

Sand creatures are like Zombies. As sand creatures are already dead, they cannot be killed, but they can be destroyed with the dagger of time. As soon as you kill a sand creature it will regenerate its health, but before they regenerate their health, just strike the dagger into them using the triangle button on PS2 console.

The sands of time

The sand is so powerful that can consume every living being it touches. It used to be locked in an enormous hourglass  

In the starting of the game the prince had made a big mistake by trusting the Vizier and unleashing the sands of time.

The prince, Farah and The Vizier are the only three living beings in the kingdom. They could escape the sands of time because they had 3 artifacts that are as ancient as the hourglass itself. They are,

1. The prince’s Dagger
2. Farah’s bow
3. The Vizier’s staff

Water is life

If the prince’s health is low, you have to find water and make him drink it using R1 button.

Four scenes of the game

There are 4 scenes in the game. They are,

1.                 Find the dagger of time in the maharajah’s treasure vaults

2.                 Take the dagger  and get out of the maharajah’s treasure vaults

3.                 Find Farah

4.                 Reach till the hourglass


Now, let me tell you little bit about the rules and special features of the game.

Rewinding

In the game if you do any mistake you can rewind it using the dagger of time. Whenever you rewind the time one of your sand tanks will be empty

Sand Tanks & power tanks

The dagger of time is filled with sand tanks and power tanks. The sand tanks help you rewind and the power tanks help you do freeze and mega freeze. Hold R1 for rewinding and use the triangle button.

Freeze and mega freeze

Freeze:

We can freeze any sand creature by using the triangle button, Then tap the square button twice to finish him off.

Mega freeze:

 If you had many sand creatures surrounding the prince, you can use mega freeze.  Remember, you should have all sand and power tanks full. In mega freeze, all the sand creatures will freeze, Then aim every sand creature and press square 2 times to everyone.

One more thing, freeze or mega freeze will not work on Farah.

Sand Vision

The game has many checkpoints, and these checkpoints are called sand vision. It helps us save the game plus shows what’s going to happen in the game.

Sand clouds

Some sand creatures might have a loose body so the sand in them will spread out.

This sand will be called sand cloud. We  can collect this sand ion the dagger using the triangle button.

Stages of the game

In the game you may find many stages. Did you know, there are 5 types of stages.

1. Fighting stages
2. Maze stages
3. Fighting and maze stages
4. Rewarding stages
5. Fighting, maze and rewarding

I chose this game because it had a very interesting story. This game is different from other games because the main character can control time and has different mazes so it’s making me think a lot. There is a part called “the hall of learning” you have to fight many sand creatures plus over there was a game of light which is a kind of a maze. After you finish the maze you get a sword! That sword is so powerful that it can break through walls! 
Then we come to to the prince’s health upgrades. You know what I told you about the water is life, well you increase your health by going into magic fountains. There will be many secret ways as you proceed in the game. If you take those ways it will lead you to magic fountains.

Let’s now go to the ending part. In the end you will reach the hourglass which will rewind everything that had happened, but before the prince does that, the Vizier ruins everything. He sends the prince and Farah away from the hourglass and they end up in a tomb.

Goa trip ( part 3)

2nd Sep 2011

We took our private Inova and headed towards Mangalore junction. Soon we reached the station, but I thought we had reached Mangalore’s ‘kabadkhana’. That’s because no one had cleaned the exterior walls of the station. Now if you want to visit Mangalore, please come by an aeroplane not a train. We were waiting for the train and I was feeling sleepy. Then Sankalp came to me and asked,” Why isn’t this train coming???” And that question was repeatedly going on in my head. The train wasn’t coming and I was getting tired. At about 11’o’clock the train came. We boarded the train and headed off to Goa. As we boarded the train, Sankalp told,” We are not going to play Uno Puno, but going to sleep” And that didn’t bug me, because I was going to do the same thing.

We found our seats and went to bed, but I couldn’t believe myself that I woke up at 3:00 in the morning! I asked mom if I could sit at the window and watch the view, but mom told, it would disturb the other people. So the only thing I could do was to just lie down. After 2 hours I again asked mom if I could watch the view and she told “yes”. Then I wore my slippers and went near Sandeep Uncle’s seat and asked,” Can you give me some place to sit…….please?” and he told sure, and I got some place to sit. The view was very nice. If you ever go to Goa, don’t forget to watch the early morning view with the sun rise. It looks very beautiful.

After 2 hours….

We got off the train and found a taxi. Sandeep Uncle told the driver to go to a place called Ginger hotel, but I like to call it “Ginger garlic” or”G.G” It took us 2 hours to get there. When I saw the exterior walls of the hotel, I thought we were going to live in some 2 star hotel. But when I went inside, it was mind blowing!!!! It turned out to be a decent hotel which had a T-Shirt shop and Café Coffee Day! The rooms were outstanding. There were 2 things I wanted to check first and foremost

Ø    The bathroom  shower

Ø    T.A.T.A sky connection

The bathroom shower was good but the Tata sky connection had no kids’ channel. I asked mom if we could subscribe and she replied, “We are not here to watch T.V.”. What she said, really made sense so I agreed with her.

Goa trip (part 2)

After that Vatsal incident, mom told me to go and take a bath. You know what? I don’t like having bath using a bucket, but if there is a shower, I can shower for an hour or two! After I took my bath, my underwear was wet. I knew I couldn’t wear my pant over wet underwears. As I told you in part 1, the bathroom was like a sea, so I couldn’t change inside the bathroom, but I also could not change my underwears in front of so many people. Mom gave me an idea which was terrifying. The idea was she will be holding a towel, and while she does that, I’ll change my underwears. 


Soon we were all ready to go. Mom and dad told us that there is a special surprise for us, but it was just 1 big Inova car. Mom told, “It is not any Inova. It’s a private Inova !” . I liked the idea that the car would be with us for the whole day and we could go anywhere we wanted.

Inova had 3 parts. The front, the middle and the back part. The kids sat first. I you ever wanted to find Sankalp and Vastal, it’s simple. The kid sitting in the front would be Sankalp. The kid sitting at the back would be Vatsal, and now you would have guessed where you could find me – obviously in the middle part. You might be thinking, how can anyone sit at the back, when there is a seat in the middle? Guess, guess......

Without having an Inova, you cannot get the answer, but you cannot spend all that money, so I’ll just tell you. It’s not an educational thing or something great, but it’s important to tell you two things. There are 2 parts of the middle seat.

1)   This part is a normal seat

2)  There is a button in the middle seat which can be pressed to break half the seat at an angle so that you can go to the back seat.

We first went to a place called “back waters”, and then we took a boat ride to “thanirbhavi beach”. I had a lot of fun in the ferry. After we reached the shore, we saw a forest.  Actually the forest was pretty small and people were sleeping on hammocks. Soon we crossed the forest and I saw some blue thing and wow !!It turned out to be the sea.

I enjoyed at the sea beach. This was my first trip to it. The thing which was best at the beach was sea shells. We collected a lot of those. I think anybody visiting Mangalore should definitely see this beach because it is one of the best beaches in the whole world.

Soon it was time for us to have Lunch. We went to a restaurant and I had butter naan and gravy. I think I am turning into a punjabi because I like punjabi food.

After lunch, we started again for sight-seeing. The worst part in the whole trip was the visit to temples. I don’t understand one thing about parents. If we pass by a temple, they would definitely like to visit the temple. We visited so many temples. If you see gods, in one temple, I see no reason to go to another because there are same gods in all of them. Mom says that we should keep thanking god for all the blessings. But I think even the gods would get bored of blessing us so many times.

But I must say that the Kudremukh temple is the best temple. There was a fountain inside the temple area. The water was coming out of Shiv ji’s head. You remember the story of saint Bhagirathi who prayed to ganga ji to come on earth. But the water flow was destructing everything. Then Shiv ji trapped the water in his hair and released only a small part, which is called Ganga.

Then it was time for us to pick our luggage from the hotel and board another train to Goa.

Goa trip

30^th Sep 2011, Morning 6 AM

Today I got both good news and bad news. The good news was that I was going to Goa with my best friend Sankalp and his family and the bad news was that today was my computer SA. Wish me best of luck because if I mess up in my exam, my mother will cancel the Goa trip.

After 12 hours ……

I am glad because my exam was way easy than I had thought of and now we are ready to go to Goa. Yahoo!!!!!!! We took an auto and rushed to the Majestic Railway station. After we reached the railway station, my Dad called up Sankalp’s father – Sandeep Gupta. We found our way to the platform where the Guptas were waiting for us. I met my friend and was glad to meet the whole Gupta family – Sankalp, his younger brother Vatsal and his parents.

1 hour later

I thought we were going to go to Goa directly, but I was wrong. We had to go to Mangalore first! Mom and dad told me that they couldn’t get tickets in the direct train to Goa. I was happy for that mishap because now I would get to travel one more place - Mangalore. Soon the Mangalore express came and we boarded the train.

 As soon as we boarded the train, I started felling hungry, so I ate 1 packet of wafers. I was felling bored too, because the kids of the Gupta family were just watching out of the window. Sankalp is an artist and he loves to watch nature which is quite unlike me. I asked Sankalp if we could play Uno, but he replied,” Not now”, and that’s the thing which really bugs me about that boy. During the whole trip Sankalp didn’t even think of playing Uno even once. It was tough and boring for me to sit quietly. I have to learn from Sankalp how to do that. 

1^st Oct 2011 - Morning in Mangalore

We got off the train and found an 8 seater taxi. After getting into the taxi, Dad told the driver to go to Kavita Residency. Dad booked only one room for all of us. This meant that there were only two purposes for hiring 1 room. They were,

Ø To keep our luggage.

Ø For taking a bath.

We went into our room and sat for a while. After that the parents asked the kids to take bath first. Sankalp and his small brother Vatsal went in the bathroom first. After some time Sankalp shouted,” prerak! The bathroom has turned into a sea!!!”

I went to check it out, and found something that was horrible! Vatsal was taking a bath by sitting inside the bucket. I knew why Vatsal was inside the bucket, because the bathroom was filled with water, and the bathroom drain was not working. If you ever book a room in Kavita Residency, make sure that the bathroom drain is proper.

The end of the world

Chapter 1

Once upon a time there was a boy called James. He lived in America with his family in a royal house.                                                                            

One day James was watching T.V. In the T.V there was a man saying, “Go to outer space because the worlds going to end. We have made a space hotel in which you can live. Hurry up and come to the city launch pad and we will take you to Mars”. James said,” what rubbish that man is saying”. Suddenly the Earth started shaking.

 James went to his mom, dad and said,” Come on we have to go the city launch pad right now”. James’s mom asked,” but on which planet will we go and where will we live?” James said,” Astronomers have designed a space hotel where we can live” so James’s dad took his car they went to the city launch pad.

 James’s mom and dad took James and went into a rocket. When the countdown started James was very scared. James mother came and told James,” Don’t worry, we will be fine”.  James and his parents wore their space suit. After some the countdown was finished and the rocket was launched in space.

The time machine

Once upon a time there was a scientist called Dallian. One day Dallian made a time machine and went in 25000 B.C.He landed on a dinosaur’s foot print. He took photos of the footprint, but suddenly Dallian saw a dinosaur coming in his way. Dallian ran away, but the dinosaur crushed the time machine.

Dallian saw Spinosaurs and Tyrannosaurs fighting. Spinosaurs and Tyrannosaurs saw Dallian.Spinosaurs and Trex ran towards dallian, but Dallian ran away. Dallian ran towards the time machine but he saw the time machine broken. He had to make a wooden time which can only work once.

Dallian took 7 kilograms of wood. He went inside a cave where no dinosaurs live. He stayed there for almost a week, but finally one day he made the time machine made of wood. He went back to his time and first of all he brushed his teeth drank 7 liters of water and phones his scientist friends and them to meet in the legendary hall(A hall where people get nobel prize for discovering or making something new).

All the scientists came to the legendary hall and saw Dallian on the stage and he said,”My dear people……we have all tried to discover dinosaurs but we failed but I have discovered dinosaurs,”and then Dallian showed all the pictures of the dinosaurs footprint and dallian got a nobel prize from the president of INDIA

Dorb saves the city

Once upon a time there was a boy called Dorb. He was interested in crabs. One day he made his own laboratory. He examined crabs and thought of mixing chemical x with chemical c and feed the potion to the crab. He made the potion and feed it to the crab. Dorb thought that the crab would become a human, but the crab started turning bigger and bigger. The crab became 100feet 234metres long, and 30000kilometres in width and 5006tones in weight. The crab started to go towards the city.

Dorb was thinking how to shrink the crab again. Dorb knew that if chemical D is mixed with chemical C, it reverses the reaction of chemical X and C. Dorb started to mix chemical D with chemical C. while the Potion was getting ready, Dorb checked where the crab is? Dorb saw that the crab was destroying all the buildings and killing people. 

 

Soon the new potion was ready. He took some of the potion and put it in a bottle. Dorb went near the crab, opened the bottle and threw the potion in the crab’s mouth. The crab shrunk and turned to his normal size.

The city was rebuilt and the injured people were sent to the hospital and all the people of the city thanked Dorb and gave him a bag full of money. Dorb made a bigger laboratory and he got famous. Dorb stayed happily in his laboratory ever after.
